Thank you for coming in. How your tattoo heals matters as much as how it was made — a few weeks of simple care will keep it looking its best for years. Please follow the guidance below.
The first few hours
If we've applied a protective tattoo spray, leave it in place until your next shower — the same evening or the following morning is fine. The spray forms a barrier over the tattoo while it's most vulnerable.
Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching the area.
Your first wash
In your next shower, let warm water run over the tattoo — the spray will dissolve on its own. Clean away any residue gently with your hands and a mild, fragrance-free soap. No cloths, sponges or loofahs, and no scrubbing.
Pat the area dry with a clean paper towel and let the skin air-dry fully before applying any moisturiser.
Daily care
Apply a thin layer of fragrance-free moisturiser two to three times a day for three to four weeks. A tattoo-specific product, cocoa butter or Aveeno all work well — we've put together a short list of moisturisers we recommend on Amazon.
While it heals
Keep it out of water. No baths, swimming, saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs or the sea for at least two weeks. Quick showers are fine.
Keep it out of the sun. Avoid direct sunlight for at least two weeks. Once healed, always apply sunscreen over the tattoo to protect it.
Hold off on training. Skip workouts for the first three days — sweat carries bacteria and raises the risk of infection. After that, shower promptly after exercise.
Dress loosely. Tight clothing rubs against a healing tattoo and causes irritation. Stick to loose-fitting layers over the area where possible.
What to expect
Mild redness and swelling in the first few days is normal. As the tattoo heals it may scab and flake — don't pick or scratch; let any scabs lift naturally.
Touch-ups are always free. If you notice any unevenness or fading once healed, message the bookings manager and we'll arrange one.
When to seek medical advice
Contact a healthcare professional if you notice any of the following:
- Excessive redness or swelling after the first few days
- Severe or worsening pain
- Red streaks or spots around the tattoo
- Pus or yellow/green discharge
- Fever or feeling unwell
